Police have confirmed that a body has been found in a search for Thea Newton who had been missing.
A large emergency service presence was reported in Warrington on Friday, with Cheshire Police in attendance off Forrest Way.
Cheshire Police were searching for the 29-year-old, who used to live in Clitheroe, on the Trans Pennine Trail and surrounding areas after she was reported missing from her Warrington home.
Her car was found parked near Sunflower Drive, with officers, along with search and rescue teams and the drone, proceeding to search the area.
It has now been confirmed by the force that a body has been found.
A spokesman said: “Search teams looking for missing woman Thea Newton, 29, in Warrington have sadly found a body.
“It is believed to be Thea and her next of kin have been informed.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
