Six fire engines attended a landfill fire in Whittle-le-Woods last night (March 19).
Crews from Chorley, Preston, Bamber Bridge, Penwortham, and Leyland, as well as the drone team, attended a fire involving a landfill site on Dawson Lane just before 6.20pm.
Crews used two jets, one ground monitor, and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the night as they continue damping down and checking for hotspots."
