The chef patron at a Michelin star restaurant in Aughton is to appear on James Martin’s cooking show today (January 7).

Moor Hall Restaurant’s chef patron, Mark Birchall, is to feature on James Martin’s Saturday Morning.

Mark, from Chorley, will join fellow chef Jude Kereama as they cook up a storm on the cooking show’s first episode of 2023.

He will be shining a light on the two Michelin star restaurant he works at and cooking  Isle of Purbeck Sika hind with Pablo beetroot and smoked marrow salad.

A spokesperson for Moor Hall said: “Mark returns to James Martin’s Saturday Morning  this weekend.

“He will be talking all things Moor Hall and preparing Isle of Purbeck Sika hind with Pablo beetroot and smoked marrow salad.

“Jude Kereama and Dan Walker will also appear on the show.”

Mark’s menus showcase his own style of modern British cuisine. Under Mark’s patronage, Moor Hall has achieved two Michelin Stars, a Michelin Green Star and five AA Rosettes.

Moor Hall was also crowned ‘Restaurant of the Year’ at the Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards 2021, retaining the title from previous years, and then awarded ‘Best Restaurant in England’ in 2022.

Mark was recently crowned ‘best chef in the UK’, winning the Chefs’ Chef of the Year award at the AA Hospitality Awards.
