The Fire and Rescue service were called to the M6 northbound today (December 14) after a vehicle caught fire.
At around 3pm, two fire engines from Preston were called to the M6, between junction 32 and 33.
Firefighters were in attendance for around 20 minutes and used a hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
According to the National Highways website, there is currently no traffic congestion between these two junctions.
A fire and rescue spokesperson said: “At 15:18 on 14 December, two fire engines from Preston attended a vehicle fire on the M6 Northbound motorway.
“The incident involved one vehicle that was alight on the roadway.
“Firefighters used one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
“They were in attendance for approximately twenty minutes.”
