A new survey has revealed the best seaside towns in the UK – and three in Lancashire featured.

While one made it to the list’s top 20 and has been named as Lancashire's best seaside town, two others ranked lower in the list with one in the bottom 10.

More than 4,303 Which? Connect members reviewed their recent UK trips to seaside towns, villages and resorts.

Destinations were rated on their beaches, seafronts, attractions, value for money, peace and quiet, and scenery, among other categories.

Of the nearly 100 destinations rated, 15 were awarded four or five stars for peace and quiet.

This will be especially valuable given that uncertainty over foreign trips in the past few years has seen a booking boom in domestic breaks.

According to the Which? survey, Lytham St Annes is in the top 20 seaside towns in the UK, with an overall destination score of 79 per cent.
