Police have said the body of a missing Lancaster man has been found in Bristol.
Yesterday (April 23) police had appealed for help as part of their enquiries to find missing 26-year-old Carl Whiteside.
As those enquiries were continuing officers received a report that a man had fallen from the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol.
A police spokesperson said: "Very sadly, although we cannot be certain, all the evidence we have so far leads us to believe that this person was Carl. Enquiries are on-going to confirm this.
"Carl’s family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who shared and supported our previous appeal in our search to find Carl."
