M65: A section of the motorway was closed earlier this evening
A CAR fire forced police to close a section of the M65, between junction 8 and junction 7 westbound this evening.
Firefighters arrived at the scene near Accrington at around 8pm to find a grey Mazda alight.
Police then sealed off the area and firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control.
Fortunately no injuries were reported and firefighters have said that the section of the motorway will be reopened shortly.
