FIREFIGHTERS from the brigade's urban search and rescue unit (USAR) were called out in the early hours of Sunday morning to tackle a car on fire.
Just after 3.30am on Sunday, crews from Chorley's USAR team were called to Higher House Lane in Heapey, after receiving reports that a car was well alight.
Luckily there was no-one hurt as a result of the fire but fire bosses, along with the police have launched a joint investigation into the cause.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "One fire engine was called to a fire involving a car on Higher House Lane, Heapey.
"Firefighters used one breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
"This is now subject to a police and fire investigation.
"No injuries were reported."
Posting on Twitter on Sunday morning, the fire and rescue service's USAR unit said this was the second night in a row they'd been called to a vehicle fire: "Another 4am vehicle fire for Lancashire fire and rescue service USAR - the second night on the bounce."
