THE body of a man has been found in a canal.
The emergency services were called to the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, close to Healey Wood Road in Burnley at around 8.30am following reports that a man’s body had been discovered.
The body was recovered from the water and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is ongoing.
A police spokesman said: “We were called by the ambulance service at 8.30am today (September 29th) following the discovery of a man’s body in the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, close to Healey Wood Road, Burnley.
“The man has not yet been formally identified and his death is currently being treated as unexplained. Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting log 0247 of September 29th, 2020.”
