A SIX-year ban has been imposed on an East Lancashire boss over a string of unexplained payouts at his failed firm.

An investigation was launched by the Insolvency Service after the demise of Domal Trading, based in Oswaldtwistle.

Records checks could not determine why more than £1million, not detailed in sales invoices, came into the company between August and November 2018.

Similar analysis failed to establish what consideration Domal received for purchases totalling £689,970, over the same timeframe.

Sajid Khan, 47, of Holden Street, Accrington, has now accepted a company director disqualification until December 2025 for failing to deliver adequate accounting records.

Insolvency officials could also not discover, in particular, the identity of parties receiving £75,710 from Domal in October 2018. Questions were also raised over what £94,635, withdrawn from the firm's bank account in November, was used for.

Neither liquidators nor HM Revenue and Customs could find out whether they were ultimately owed money.
