FIREFIGHTERS were called to a car fire in Darwen on Friday night.
One crew attended the incident on Birchall Avenue at 6.50pm.
A Lancashire Fire Service spokesman said: "The driver of the vehicle saw smoke coming from the car bonnet.
"They immediately stopped the vehicle and called the fire service.
"On arrival the crew faced a well-developed car fire with flames visible from the bottom of the road.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a high pressure hose reel jet.
"Thankfully no one was injured but the vehicle was destroyed by the fire."
