DELAYS were caused after a car caught fire on the Whitebirk roundabout next to the M65.
Police said the vehicle caught fire shortly after 5pm on Thursday in the right hand lane on the roundabout into Blackburn and they were alerted by the driver.
Firefighters from Blackburn and Hyndburn attended the blaze to extinguish the fire and ensure the area was safe.
Officers said there was traffic problems while the incident was dealt with.
A police spokesman said: "We assisted a motorist whose car burst into flames.
"The fire brigade were in attendance and nobody was injured.
"There was traffic problems for a while."
A fire service spokesman said: "Three fire engines from Hyndburn and Blackburn attended a car fire on the Whitebirk roundabout off the M65 in Blackburn. Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire."
