A MAN in a dog costume launched a silent protest against Lancashire Police.
The man stood outside BBC Radio Lancashire in Darwen Street, Blackburn, holding placards reading 'Lancs Police lied about me' and '101 let me down'.
The owner had earlier protested outside the Lancashire Telegraph.
It is understood his demonstration relates to a case in which his dog attacked another dog.
Although the protester refused to speak to Lancashire Telegraph yesterday, it is thought his concerns relates to an incident in July 2017 when his animal 'went for' a fellow dog walker's Siberian Husky.
Kelly Burns suffered leg injuries and her eight-year-old dog was left with puncture wounds in its chest after the incident in Whalley New Road.
Last year, she told the Telegraph she had been walking her dog, Blue, at Blackburn Old Cemetery when she saw a 'vicious and aggressive' dog with its owner.
She shouted to see if they had the dog under control and saw it was not on its lead.
Miss Burns described the dog as a 'cross breed with features of a boxer and Staffordshire bull terrier'.
She said the dog then attacked her dog and a passerby had to help to drag the dog off the pair.
It is understood the protester is angry at the way police had handled the case.
The owner faced no criminal charges over the incident and it is believed he immediately reported the incident to police via the 101 number.
However, police said at the time that their enquiries were ongoing and that they were trying to find the dog and its owner.
It is thought the man formally complained to police over the case but his complaint was not upheld.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We investigated an incident in July 2017 in which a woman was injured as she tried to break up a fight between two dogs in Whalley New Road.
"The woman reported she suffered a bite wound to her leg but we had no record of the second dog owner making contact with the police.
"We have spoken to the second dog owner who has co-operated fully with our inquiry and made an offer to pay vets bills and meet with the other party. The matter has now been closed."
