DETECTIVES investigating a serious assault on a musician and recording studio owner have made two arrests.
Two men, both aged 26 from Blackburn, were each arrested on Tuesday morning on suspicion of occasioning grievous bodily harm after an incident at Smithy Bridge station on a Blackburn bound train from Manchester on Monday, March 27.
The man allegedly assaulted in the incident is Keiron Melling, 34, who runs Hilltown Studios in Colne and is also the drummer with the indie band The Fall.
He was treated in hospital for 'serious' head injuries after the incident.
A British Transport Police spokesman, said: "The two men remain in police custody where they are being questioned in relation to this incident.
"The public and media are thanked for their support in sharing this appeal which undoubtedly assisted officers in obtaining an arrest."
