THE community group which is set to take over the former Oswaldtwistle Library has changed leaders.
Previous chairman Chris Brindle stepped down due to work commitments.
He will be succeeded by committee member John Woods, who was voted as the new chairman at a meeting last week.
Mr Brindle said was pleased by the work carried out during his time as group leader.
He said: “I’m really proud of how far we’ve got with this and I look forward to seeing the library reopened.
“But right now I don’t have the capacity to continue as chair. I wish the committee well.”
In November the group was named the council’s preferred option for community asset transfer of the library.
The group was formed in May to fight to keep the library in Union Road open when it was threatened by closure due to county-wide cuts.
