AN investigation has been launched after the body of a woman was found in a field near Langho.
Detectives are currently looking into the 'unexplained death' of the 42-year-old but do not believe it was suspicious.
The woman, believed to be a mother of one living locally, was found in a field between Old Langho Road and the A59 at 10am this morning.
The body of the woman has not yet been formally identified.
A post-mortem is set to take place in due course.
A police spokesman said: "We were contacted at around 10am today following a report that a body had been found in a field off Langho Old Road in Langho.
"Emergency Services attended and sadly a woman was found deceased.
"The body is yet to be identified and while the death is currently being treated as unexplained, it is not thought to be suspicious."
