A BURNLEY man was knocked unconscious after an unprovoked attack outside a boxing event Blackburn.
The 38-year-old was left with a broken ankle and a black eye after the incident at Audley Sports Centre, Chester Street on Saturday, April 9.

He left the venue of the licensed boxing night with some friends whilst a scuffle was taking place in the car park, at around 10.30pm.
He was then subjected to an unprovoked assault and his ankle was broken in three places, thought to have been caused by someone stamping on him.
DC Andy Bleasdale from Blackburn CID said: “This is a truly horrendous assault on a man who was innocently just trying to get in a taxi. He had been left with some nasty injuries to his ankle which are going to take some time to heal.
“Did you see an assault or disorder on the car park outside Audley Sports Centre that night? I would urge anyone with information to get in touch as soon as possible.”
