A MAN caught drink driving six months into a 40-month ban has been jailed.
Blackburn magistrates heard Damian Thomson, 30, crashed into the back of another car and was later found to be more than double the legal drink drive limit.
Thompson, of Bradstone Close, Blackburn, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance. He was jailed for 20 weeks.

Tracey Yates, prosecuting, said that when a police officer came upon the crash Thomson said he wasn’t bothered and the officer could do what she wanted.
Mrs Yates said Thompson had been banned for 40 months for drink driving in October. Ian Huggan, defending, said: “He realises he has put himself in a very difficult position.”
Imposing a custodial sentence, the chairman of the magistrates said Thompson was serving a long ban and had shown a total disregard for the order of the court.
“You have shown no interest in the safety of other road users,” she added.
