A FIRST World War exhibition is to be staged in Blackburn to mark the end of a year-long Heritage Lottery-funded project.
The display will feature work created during the ‘Narratives of Transformation, their story: our story,’ scheme, which looks at how the war changed the lives of people both on and off the battlefields.

It will be held at Blackburn College and is the culmination of the £10,000 lottery project.
The project was launched in 2014 as a collaboration between University Centre at Blackburn College and Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery.
Students studying creative arts disciplines and English language and literature took part in a series of workshops with international artist Paddy Hartley, curators from Blackburn Museum and college staff.
Artefacts and existing stories from people were used as a starting point and students created garments, textile pieces, poems, stories, art and embroidery.
The exhibition will run at the University Centre at Blackburn College for a week.
A selection of the work will then be on display at Blackburn Museum from Saturday, December 12.
Included in the exhibition is a piece by a student who used her Indian heritage as a focal point.
The instillation was inspired by the different forms of turban folding and also from her experience working alongside Paddy Hartley.
Another exhibition feature is a ‘sea of poppies’ inspired by the ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’ at the Tower of London.
