CUSTOM-MADE panels are being fitted to Blackburn’s new £5 million bus station on the Old Market site.
Before Christmas the steel loops went up and since then the skeleton framework has been fitted.
Now the precision cut glass panels are being wrapped round the structure giving a first look at its final appearance.
The building in Ainsworth Street is a key part of the £40 million Pennine Reach scheme to speed buses between Hyndburn, Blackburn and Darwen.
It means the complex is now on track to open to the public in the late Spring or early summer.
Blackburn with Darwen council regeneration boss Maureen Bateson said: “The bus station is progressing and we can now see the glass starting to go up.”
“It has been especially cut to size to fit the unique building and people will start to see what the finished bus station will look like.”
