A WOMAN died suddenly while visiting a friend’s house in Blackburn.

The 42-year-old, who has not been named, was with her boyfriend at the home of Peter Sline in Moorland Avenue, Feniscowles, in the early hours of yesterday.

Police confirmed they had been alerted to the death and that it was not believed to be suspicious.

Yesterday, Mr Sline, a window cleaner, said the three had been drinking when the woman passed away.

He said: “She had been asleep for about an hour and then she just got up, lay down on the floor and died.”

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to an address on Moorland Avenue, Blackburn, by the ambulance service in the early hours of yesterday morning following the report of a sudden death of a woman in her 40s.

“The woman, aged 42, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

“A post mortem examination has been conducted and has confirmed that the woman died of natural causes.

“Her death is not being treated as suspicious.

“The family of the deceased have been informed and a file has been passed to the coroner.”

Neighbour Terry Hinds described the scene in the road where police officers had been permanently camped outside Mr Sline’s home most of yesterday.

He said: “I got up and there was a police car there and then another came and went.

“They were there all day.

“Next door said they had seen a stretcher going in which must have been to take the body away.

“We didn’t know what was going on and when the postman came they wouldn’t let him go to the door. It is so sad.”
