A 54-year-old woman and five of her children have appeared in court charged in connection with the attempted kidnap of a woman who was in a same-sex relationship with another of her daughters.
CCTV captured the alleged attempted kidnap of Sarah Harrison on a Blackburn town centre car park after she finished work at the USC shop in the Mall on June 20.
Four of the siblings were also charged with robbing shop manager Miss Harrison of her handbag which was allegedly to be used to find out where Nazma Ditta was living after running away from the family home.
Rani Ditta, 54, of Queens Park Road, Blackburn and her daughter Tosif Ditta, 34, of Pringle Street, Blackburn, were remanded on bail on a charge of conspiracy to kidnap Sarah Harrison.
Another daughter, Nighat Morris, 38, of Banker Street, Bolton, appeared with them charged with attempted kidnap of Miss Harrison and robbery. She was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court.
The court heard three other siblings, sisters Atfah Ditta, 32, and Ghazala Ditta, 31, and brother Tahmoor Ditta, 26, had already appeared before the court charged with attempted kidnap and robbery and been sent in custody to Preston Crown Court.
An application for bail for those three had been rejected by a judge at the Crown Court.
Miss Harrison was understood to be in a same sex relationship with Nazma Ditta.
Rani and Tosif Ditta were bailed with conditions of residence, curfew, the surrender of passports, not to contact prosecution witnesses, not to enter Blackpool where Nazma and Miss Harrison now live and not to enter the Blackburn shopping centre where Miss Harrison works. All six will appear at the crown court on July 10.
