WHAT are ewe doing here?
That was the question being asked by motorists driving through Waterfoot who were brought to a standstill by sheep crossing the road yesterday.
A sheep and a baby lamb looked like they didn’t have a care in the world as they calmy crossed Bacup Road at around 9am.
Rush hour traffic in both directions was brought to a halt while the animals made their way across the road.
There was also an unusual sheep sighting in Rawtenstall yesterday morning, with a number of sheep on a grassy area between Bocholt Way and Bacup Road.
The animals have been known to appear in that area of Rawtenstall before but many motorists still had to perform a double take as they battled through the traffic to get to work.
It is not known who the sheep belong to or how they got to that area.
