NELSON Post Office will close for two weeks next month while it undergoes refurbishment.
Improvements to the office, on Place de Creil, include a new queueing system and seating.
When it reopens, it will have earlier opening on Monday morning and later closing on Saturday.
The refurbishment work will mean the branch shutting from March 6 to 19.
It follows significant improvements at Trawden Post Office in December.
Customers there have benefited from significantly longer opening hours since the improvements.
Andrew Stephenson, MP for Pendle, who sat on the Postal Service Bill Committee, has welcomed the announcement.
He said: “I have met the sub-post master, Mr Vali, on a number of occasions and know he is keen to continually improve the services he offers to his customers.
“Between 1997 and 2010, Pendle lost 17 post offices and 5,000 were lost across the country.
“People really value their local Post Offices and I will continue to do all I can to ensure services are improved.”
