A GROUP of partying Blackburn Rovers players have become internet favourites after strutting their stuff on a nightclub dancefloor.
Midfielders David Dunn and David Bentley and striking ace Benni McCarthy were caught on camera on a night out during the close season.
The footage, believed to have been caught using a mobile phone, has been posted on video website YouTube and shows the trio in Preston's Squires nightclub.
And it has been viewed 4,148 times since being uploaded by a user with named sshorror' on May 28.
As the technicolour 70s- style lights flash, Dunn and Bentley go head to head in a dance-off, similar to those made famous in films such as Grease and Saturday Night Fever.
Bentley's silky skills seem to prove the most popular with the fans who cheer them on although Dunny gives him a run for his money.
As the pair dance, the DJ gives a running commentary.
Dunn's grandad, David Snr, said he had seen the footage.
He said: "He does like a dance and a bit of karaoke. He's just a normal lad and the film is funny.
"It doesn't surprise me to see him having a dance. He doesn't go out very much and when he does he wants to have a good time. I don't know much about dancing myself but he seemed to be doing OK!" The video has found favour with ordinary fans who approve of the players out having a good night.
Fans' internet chat rooms and message boards have been packed with comments and peoples' thoughts about it.
One post from 'Pascal' gives the thumbs-up.
It said: "Fair play to the lads. Most footy players are sometimes too stuck up to go out with us normos.
"Always see Dunny out in town and he's a real legend. Up the Rovers!"
Other fans are equally impressed.
Jimma posted: "Absolute legends. Rovers for the title this year."
