BURNLEYLight Opera Society is looking for people to dress up as nuns for a fun nun run at Townley Park on Saturday, September 26.
Burnley ParkRun holds a weekly 5km run, but the nun run will be in fancy dress and in conjunction with BLOS, which is staging the musical comedy Sister Act in November.
David Gill, Chairman of BLOS said: “If you don't want to run you can still dress up and cheer on the 'sisters'. We want as many 'nuns' to be running as possible though, so dress in black and bring along a wimpole. We especially welcome male 'nuns' who have beards.”
Any nun who runs will be entered into a prize draw to win two FREE tickets to see Sister Act which will be staged at Burnley Mechanics from saturday, November 14-21.
The 5km run starts at 9am at the top of The Avenue with the iconic Towneley Hall in the background. There is no time limit and participants can run jog, or walk.
Anyone wishing to take part must register with ParkRun at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/burnley/
