RAMSBOTTOM remained under Conservative control on a great election night for the Tories in Bury.
Barry Theckston won the Ramsbottom seat with a majority of 1,138, beating Labour challenger Val Robinson into second place.
And Dorothy Gunther kept her North Manor seat with a 2,117 majority.
The Tories took overall power in Bury for the first time since 1986, seizing the three seats they needed to take control in one of the standout results of yesterday's local elections.
