One of the premier events in the business calendar for East Lancashire is now open for entries. There are 11 awards categories covering every facet of business achievement and enterprise. The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony to be held at Ewood Park, Blackburn, on Friday, November 15, 2013.
Kevin Young, editor, Lancashire Telegraph "These awards climax with the largest annual gathering of East Lancashire business people and are the perfect way to celebrate all the hard work and successes of the year. Commercial and industrial life has never been easy in this area and the last 12 months have been no exception. But we know how enterprising and determined companies are in East Lancashire and there will be some brilliant and inspiring stories to be told. The quality of entrants is always excellent and we look forward to recounting their successes and giving them the recognition they so richly deserve in our region." Mike Damms, chief executive, East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce "The Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards have always been a key event in the calendar. It is great to see the best of the best celebrated with a fantastic evening." Ian Clinton, principal, Blackburn College “As one of the largest FE colleges in the region, we are committed to training and developing the next generation of skilled workers and business leaders for our region. Training has and will always be a crucial aspect in moving any business forward and we are committed to providing the highest quality offer to employers. We are thrilled to be sponsoring the Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards for the second year running. We’ve had a proud association with the Telegraph and local and regional employers over many years and the awards are an excellent way for us to demonstrate our continuing commitment and support for local businesses, and the community. We wish all the entrants the best of luck." David Hill, Partner at the Blackburn office of Lancashire law firm Napthens. “Napthens is delighted to have been involved as a sponsor of the Lancashire Telegraph Awards for a number of years. As a firm advising and working with many organisations across East Lancashire, we enjoy supporting these awards which highlight and applaud the hard work and achievements of local businesses. The Team of the Year award is a great way to recognise what is the most important part of any thriving business – its people. As sponsors of this award we’re looking forward to hearing the personal, inspiring stories from the teams behind the business success.” Helen Clayton, director of Entrepreneurial Business at Deloitte in the North West "We are delighted to be supporting the Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards and in particular the Deal of the Year category. East Lancashire boasts some of most entrepreneurial and fast-growing businesses in the North West, many of whom are involved in transformational deals. These companies form the backbone of the economy and are essential to the future prosperity of the region, so we are proud to play our part in recognising some of those success stories." Councillor Andy Tatchell, Burnley Council’s executive member for economic development “We are pleased to be involved in the Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards. They have a great track record of recognising the fantastic achievement of businesses in Lancashire. We particularly wanted to sponsor the leading Export category because what this recession has demonstrated is that for UK plc to succeed it needs to make stuff, make it well and export it. We as a council recognise this and want to help create the conditions for local companies to succeed.” Tim Bullough, commercial director, Accrol Papers “As a business with our roots firmly in Lancashire we are delighted to sponsor the Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards and in particular the manufacturing category which makes a significant contribution to the prosperity of the area.”
