Blackburn Rovers will jet off to Austria for their pre-season training camp on July 14 and have announced three North-West friendlies.

Chief Executive Steve Waggott confirmed that Rovers would be heading back to Austria this summer. The club held a training camp out there in June last year and played TSV Hartberg in two 90-minute matches.

Rovers will fly out to their training base on July 14 before returning on July 21. Supporters have been welcomed to join them, with at least one friendly lined up with the possibility of another to be confirmed.

John Eustace's side return for pre-season testing on Friday, June 21, before training begins the following Monday on the 24th. They will work at the Brockhall Senior Training Centre for two weeks before their first friendly.

That will be against Accrington Stanley on July 6, as has been the case in the previous two seasons. It will be two 60-minute matches, as has become customary, with kick-off at 2pm at The Wham Stadium.

Rovers then fly out eight days later to Austria where at least one friendly against overseas opponent will take place. The training camp will run between July 14 and July 21.

Upon their return, they'll face a trip to Wigan Athletic on Saturday, July 27 (3pm) before a trip to Stockport County on Friday, August 2 (7:30pm). Ticket details will be released in due course,

It's understood Rovers have three more friendlies in the works, with talks ongoing about a showpiece game at Ewood Park the weekend before the season starts, on August 3.

Spanish side Girona were the visitors last season ahead of what proved to be a record-breaking season for them. That fixture is also likely to be a designated Fans' Takeover Day, though that is yet to be formally confirmed.
