Road diversions are in place in Burnley after a ‘sinkhole’, caused by a collapsed culvert, has opened up in the road.
Manchester Road, by the junction of Calderbrook Avenue and Reynolds Street, is closed.

Road diversions are in place until the road can reopen.
There have been reports of motorists moving through the cones to avoid the closure. Police say this is “extremely dangerous” and could cause damage to your vehicle.
A police spokesperson said: “Please be advised that Manchester Road by the junction of Calderbrook Avenue and Reynolds Street, Burnley has been closed due to a collapsed culvert.
“Please follow the diversions that are in place until the road is re-opened.
“We have been notified that people are moving the cones to get through the closure.
“This is extremely dangerous and could cause damage to your vehicle.”
